What's the best free offline music app for iPhone?

I recently switched to an iPhone and I’m looking for a free music app that works offline. I used to have an Android and had a great app, but I’m not sure what’s the best for iPhone now. Could someone recommend a reliable option? Thanks!

So I gotchu! I just switched to iPhone not too long ago too. Honestly, the best free offline music app out there for iPhone has to be Spotify. Yeah, I know they push for that premium, but if you can deal with ads, it’s solid for offline. Just download your playlists when you’re on Wi-Fi and you’re golden.

Another option that’s surprisingly good is Audiomack. It’s completely free, and you can download tons of tracks for offline listening without any nasty hidden fees. Definitely worth a shot. Musi is cool too for streaming, but it doesn’t do offline.

For more of an old-school vibe, check out Evermusic. You can download songs and even import your music from cloud drives. It’s almost like having your personal little music library on your phone without it taking up a ton of space.

But if you’re super picky, VLC Media Player lets you transfer music from your computer and play it offline without any hassles. It’s not only for videos, you know.

TL;DR: Spotify and Audiomack are probably your best bets for free offline music on iPhone, with Evermusic and VLC trailing behind.

Hey, I got something to add here! So, Spotify’s decent for offline if you can put up with ads, but really, Audiomack is actually more reliable for its completely free feature. But lemme toss another one into the mix you might not’ve heard of: ‘TIDAL.’

Yea, TIDAL’s got that top-notch sound quality and they do offer a free tier with ads; you can download some songs offline without forking out cash. It’s kinda underrated, maaaybe undervalued, I dunno.

Also, why no one mentioned Bandcamp?? Seriously, Bandcamp can be super rad if you’re into indie music - tons of artists offer their music for free download, and it’s offline, so viola!

An old-school option? MP3 downloads from trusted free music websites (there’s a bunch) and then you could use an app like Documents by Readdle to store and play them. Minimal interface but does the job.

On the flip, free apps always have some kinda compromise, be it ads or limited library, so temper those expectations, ya know?

And holla if someone finds THE perfect free music app, we still dream.

Hey, diving into the mix here with something slightly different. While Spotify and Audiomack are solid contenders for offline music, you should also check out the app Aloha Browser. This might sound odd since it’s a browser, but it has an integrated media player where you can download music files directly from various sites and play them offline. It’s free and handles various file formats.

Pros:

  1. Totally Free: No hidden costs, just good old Free.
  2. Versatile File Support: Works with a range of formats.
  3. Built-in VPN: Keeps you anonymous if that’s your jam.

Cons:

  1. Manual Download Needed: Not as smooth as streaming apps.
  2. Basic UI: Not as visually appealing as dedicated music apps.

Competitors:

  • Spotify: Great if you’re okay with ads for offline listening.
  • Audiomack: Reliable and truly free for offline tunes.
  • Evermusic: Handy for cloud imports.
  • Bandcamp: Awesome for indie music lovers but depends on artists.

But yeah, each of these apps has their own unique quirks. If you don’t wanna settle for ads, there’s always Documents by Readdle. It’s great for storing and playing any mp3 downloads you grab from reliable free music websites. But again, it’s more of a manual process.

Picking the right app may ultimately depend on your preference for library size, user interface, and if you’re cool with ads. If someone finds that perfect app we all dream of, you gotta share! :milky_way::musical_note:
